This issue of MANTHAN: Journal of Commerce and Management is an interesting amalgam of diverse areas related to commerce and management such as social media marketing, augmented and virtual reality, Fintech, corporate social responsibility and performance related parameters of firms. This issue comprises of five research papers, two case studies and one review paper.

The advent of digital revolution world wide has brought its own set of opportunities and challenges with it. A number of papers in this issue highlight some of these aspects. The paper by Dr. Vaishali Sharma and Ms. Mahima Gupta examines the relationship between various attributes related to social media marketing and healthcare sector. They use a survey to understand the perception of people using internet for consumption of health care information online. Another paper related to the realm of digital technology is by Dr. Bijal Zaveri and Dr. Prashant Amin, who focus on the future of marketing trends in the age of augmented and virtual reality. They point out that with the beginning of digital marketing and the internet revolution, mass media advertising has taken a backseat and things like consumer behaviour, preferences, search history tracking, SEO, content marketing, speech recognition, has come to the forefront and they provide a more prominent way for the understanding for consumer behaviour.

Dr. Debarun Chakraborty, in his paper on ‘Factors influencing satisfaction of learning app consumers in India: A study on smart phone users’  builds the client fulfilment structure model of versatile learning Apps from the point of view of the portable learning members. The outcomes of his examination demonstrate that apparent responsiveness and content are imperative factors that influence client fulfilment with portable learning Application. Another interesting paper in the area of digitization and technology is by Dr. Gurendra Bhardwaj, Ms. Gauri Sinha and Mr. Ankit Gupta who discuss Fintech: the finance catering service through technological driven advances. The authors point out that while language is thought to be a dividing factor among people building on the foundation of culture, in case of development in technological and economical advances, language has been a bridge for Fintech to connect with individuals irrespective of their understanding of universal language and has taken them to the gate of open connectivity, i.e internet. The paper explains the behavioural pattern of Indian population towards language as a stimulator in Fintech. Dr. Shubhendra Singh Parihar, in his paper on in-store customer experience in an electronic store focuses on most of controllable factors like product quality, availability, range, prices, and behaviour of staff, waiting time in billing counters, cleanliness, and space for movement. The results of the study signposted that product availability, product variety, range and waiting time at billing counter have significant influence in overall customer experience in a retail chain store of electronic goods.

This issue has two case studies. The study by Prof. Parkash Chandel and Mr. Parvesh Gill focuses on the financial performance of Kangra Central Cooperative Bank Ltd. Employing financial ratios to measure the profitability, liquidity and credit performance of Kangra Central Cooperative bank in Himachal Pradesh, the study finds that the overall bank performance improved considerably in the years of the analysis. The second case study by Dr. Rupa Gupta on the technical insolvency and growth analysis of LIC of India. This issue also has a review paper by Dr. Chhavi Sharma and Ms. Supriya Kamna that reviews existing literature which examines the relationship between corporate social responsibility and financial performance of companies in India. The authors observe that there is a positive relationship between the corporate social responsibility and financial performance of companies, on the basis of studies reviewed.

With its focus on digital era and technology revolution, we hope this issue of MANTHAN will make for an interesting reading and provide useful insights to readers on emerging opportunities and challenges in varied areas of management.
